Beauty: My Lips But Better

I enjoy playing with lip color but most days I tend to wear more eye makeup and just reach for lip products that are relatively natural in color and give that “my lips but better” look.

My current favorite “my lips but better” lipstick is Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick in Rosewood (No. 04). Like other Burberry Beauty products, the quality is excellent. The formula is creamy, truly moisturizing and contains anti-aging ceramides for fuller lips as well as UV filters to protect from environmental damage. It just glides on so smoothly and is the perfect pink/brown to match the natural color my lips (it is the color used in many of the Burberry ads). It does look a bit darker/browner in the tube than it does on my lips so don’t be scared by the stock images – though if you have lighter pink lips you might be better off with No. 02 Cameo or No. 03 Cameo Pink.

Bonus: for a cheaper alternative, try Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in pink truffle.

Sale of the Week: Reiss

Confession: I pretty much never buy things full retail price. I add designer items to my closet during sales in november/december and may/june. I wait until there’s a sale code to buy anything from retailers like J. Crew/Asos/etc. (chloe’s blog is a fabulous resource). I stock up on makeup during friends and family sales. I buy things from sample sale sites and designer outlets. I troll eBay (only to buy things new). At the very least, I use ebates to get cash back.

Dutchess favorite Reiss has a ton of things on sale right now as they get ready for new inventory. There are a number of items that are perfect for the transition from summer to fall – my picks below.

1) Kari Ring 2) Lilly Sandals 3) Carlie Dress 4) Devon Skirt 5) Copping Jacket (gorgeous!) 6) Alicia Ballerina Flats 7) Saskia Top 8) Hana Dress
