I have a slight obsession with the idea of “resort wear” – probably because I have a slight obsession with the idea of permanently being on vacation and having nothing better to do than lounge around by infinity pools and indulge in luxury spa services (if only I could get past the 40 years of work I have ahead of me, sigh)…
On that note, its no surprise I’m dying over these gorgeous caftans from Australian designer Camilla Franks. From her most recent “Babylon Collection,” these looks are stunning examples of her signature bold and inspired graphic prints – and I’m imagining they would be perfect for paradise… regardless of where your idea of paradise might be!

MARAJO and PARROT – perfect for a Caribbean cruise!
BARAKA – Brazil? Bali? Beaches… does it really matter where?
NOVAYA and KABBALAH – Ibiza is calling my name!

I am DYING over the Baraka! It is amazing and the colors are insane. obsessed! My paradise includes sand, turquoise oceans and a beverage. It can be anywhere but here ;)
um…what happened to the beautiful weather D.C. was suppose to get this week Elle??? I got in last night and it seemed like a normal summer night and then this morning…RAIN! :( I really had my heart set on some well needed POOL TIME!! (sigh) guess I will have to wait til tomorrow and hope this clears up!! ;)
As far as my idea of paradise…I have two thoughts on this: My obsession for travel almost ALWAYS leads me to Europe. I have a fascination with the historical architecture, the cultural and language differences, customs and overall beauty, however European trips are what I call ‘work’ vacations. You HAVE to ‘do’ things when you go, sight see, experience things etc. When you go somewhere tropical this for me is the opposite. It’s is more of a ‘relax’ vacation. Sitting on the sand or by the pool, frosty cocktail in hand and just doing a whole lotta nothing. I think at the moment I am kind of feeling Tahiti…me, my man, a little tiki hut…(sigh) I guess I will have to settle for DC for now! ;)

I feel your pain!! I think resortwear is the most appealing clothing I see all year long, but practicality…. not so much. I need to be on permanent vacation, too!

Just read on some blog that “the best place in the world is lying next to the person you love” or somethign long these lines, so I would have to say that this is paradise to me, doesn’t really matter where exacrtly in the world… As for those amazing creations, my favorite is the 3d dress in the first picture! It’s just so super flowy!
I wouldn’t mind wearing resort wear every day – then I could pretend every day is a luxe vacation! haha
Ooohh….I miss summer already! Better plan a vacation somewhere more exotic and warm during winter, so I can wear something like this.
