shopping makes me feel better

I was sick for most of last week but am slowly starting to feel better… laying in bed has given me a lot of time to peruse the interwebs in search of things I don’t really need (and maybe some things that I do!) but I haven’t quite decided which category these gorgeous Mara Hoffman dresses fall into – I want them all!

Completely unrelated, I also really want a SodaStream Penguin Water Carbonator (I’m not even the biggest fan of sparkling water) but I hear the diet cola mix flavor tastes like fountain soda…. which is SO much better than canned soda. It just is. Too bad spending $200+ on a kitchen appliance is a foreign concept to me… I’d rather buy shoes. More specifically another one of the 40 styles of Bottega Veneta beauties that popped up on DSW the other day (yes another pair, because I already caved while writing this). I’m a sucker for basket weave and um hello they’re more than 80% off (using code SHOPMAY for additional 30%), really, how am I supposed to say no to that??

T-Strap Platforms, Suede Wedge Sandals, Clog Sandals (still can’t get on board with the whole clog trend… but these I can work with), Satin Rope Sandals

Shopping when you’re sick doesn’t really count, right?

The dresses are indeed gorgeous and sooo perfect for summer! I adore the use of color in their patterns – even if it’s just a thin colored stripe along the torso – beautiful! Love the Bottega Venetas too, especially the first two :) Get well soon, you need to get out and wear those beuties if you end up buying them, right? ;)

P.S. Hehe, could your newl appreciation for chair design be at least somewhat influenced by me? I sometimes feel like I post about chairs so often that it becomes more of a chair blog rather than a thankful one lol (And to tell you the truth, I somehow managed to stay away from posting 2 other chair pictures I took at various places this month… The one is a current post was a sneaky one since I posted about the gallery hehe)

So, which Bottegas did you spring for? They’re all so gorgeous!

The water carbonator is brilliant (and quirky with its penguin shape). I’m tempted to spring for one myself.

hmm…i had the sodastream carbonator actually, and the bf and i ended up returning it to williams sonoma because we never used it and it took up so much space! :P so i say, save your $200 for shoes, cuz that’s money well spent ;)

i saw that water carbonator this weekend while we were in CT–it looked awesome!!! we have a bit of a seltzer problem at our house, so, in the long run, the investment of $200 would probably save us a lot of money and cut down significantly on the amount of plastic bottles we recycle.

and no…shopping when you’re sick doesn’t count one bit!!! ;) hope you’re feeling better this week!

Oh Elle, I LOVE the way you think. Shopping definitely doesn’t count when you’re sick. And now that I think about it…I’m feeling a little under the weather myself right now!! :)

80%?! Good God, who could resist?

And I do the same thing, every time I want to buy something expensive (and usually electronic) I quantify it in pairs of shoes… which makes me not want to buy it!

Shopping always makes me feel better, too! Love the BV shoes. Lucky you that get to buy these beauties at greatly reduced prices. I checked out the DSW website, but they don’t ship overseas.

I’m sorry you’re sick, but I’m glad you’re feeling better now. Heh, they don’t call it “retail therapy” for nothin’! I love that white dress and *all* Bottega!

How did I miss that you can purchase shoes on DSW’s website now?! Amazing!! Shopping when you are sick may count but buying Bottega Venetas shoes on sale doesn’t!
